East Orange Campus HS and Orange HS players lead East to Robeson All-Star Football victory

EAST ORANGE – Orange High School’s Myril Zero and East Orange Campus High’s Keneek Tomlinson helped the East All-Star team to a 16-12 win over the West All-Star team in the 23rd annual Paul Robeson High School All-Star Football Classic at Paul Robeson Stadium in East Orange on Monday night, June 13.

The East team comprised seniors from Essex County and eastern Passaic County and the West team comprised seniors from Morris, Sussex and western Passaic counties.

Tomlinson, a defensive end, was named the East Defensive Most Valuable Player after recording two sacks and two tackles for loss.

Zero, a wide receiver, scored on an 8-yard run on the opening drive of the game to give the East team a 7-0 lead. The drive covered eight plays and 59 yards.

Other OHS players on the roster included wide receiver Al’Jaqua Hawkins and offensive center Shamil Roberts. Defensive back Tashaun Harrison, linebacker Taheem Jackson and offensive guard Bemba Kaba were the other EOCHS players in the game.

Tomlinson and OHS defensive lineman Amir Copher also will play in the 38th annual Phil Simms New Jersey North-South High School Senior All-Star Classic on Monday, June 27 at Kean University in Union at 7 p.m.
