East Orange Campus HS basketball players earn honors

EAST ORANGE – East Orange Campus High School’s Marquise Kindel, Jordan Taylor, Zach Williams and Arthur Mitchell earned boys’ basketball All-Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division honors.

Kindel, a senior guard, averaged 18.5 points per game and made All-SEC-Liberty Division first team. He finished his career with more than 1,000 points.

Taylor made second team after averaging 10.8 points a game, including making a total of 67 three-pointers, and was selected to the second team.

Williams, a senior center, and Mitchell, a senior forward, made All-SEC-Liberty Division honorable mention.

Kindel and Taylor also made Worrall Media All-Area first team.
The Jaguars reached the semifinals of both the Essex County Tournament and state North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 tournament and finished with a 17-11 record. Billy Lovett stepped down as head coach of the team following the end of the season. Lovett was the coach for the past three seasons, leading the Jaguars to a 58-26 record, including winning back-to-back SEC-Liberty Division titles in his first two years. EOCHS shared the title with Orange High School and University in 2014.
