East Orange Campus HS boys’ and girls’ basketball teams to tip of seasons; schedules released

EAST ORANGE – The East Orange Campus High School boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams will begin their seasons on Friday, Dec. 18.

The boys’ team will visit Newark Central in a Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division game, while the girls’ team will host Blomfield Tech in an SEC-American Division game, both at 7 p.m.

The boys’ team last season won the SEC-Liberty title for the second straight year, reached the Essex County Tournament final where it lost to Seton Hall Prep, 70-62, and reached the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament final where it lost to Paterson Eastside, 74-64, in overtime to finish with a 25-5 record.

The girls’ team last season won the SEC-American title, defeated Montclair, 51-32, to win the Essex County Tournament final, defeated Paterson Eastside, 50-40, to capture the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament final and lost to Franklin, 64-62, in the state Group 4 semifinals to finish with a 25-3 record.
