EAST ORANGE, NJ — The East Orange Campus High School boys basketball team kept up its winning ways.
The Jaguars, under head coach Gabe Baltimore, defeated Newark Central and Payne Tech to extend their winning streak to five games and improve to 8-1.
Junior guard-forward Carlyle Adams led a balanced attack with 10 points and 14 rebounds, as the Jaguars defeated Central, 59-29, Thursday, Jan. 4, at home.
Senior guard Eugene Byass had 11 points, senior guard Kaiyri Barkley and freshman guard James Roberts each had 10 points, senior guard Da’maree Dyer had 9 points and four steals, and senior guard-forward Gavin Jones had 8 points.
Adams led the Jaguars with 19 points and 13 rebounds and Roberts, who made his first start for injured starter Jones, contributed with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in the 69-52 home win over Payne Tech on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Barkley chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Byass had 8 points with four rebounds to balance out the attack.
