East Orange Campus HS boys’ indoor track 4×400 shines at Millrose Games Trials; Jaguars also finish tied for third at state Relays

EAST ORANGE – The East Orange Campus High School boys’ 4×400-meter relay indoor track team clocked 3:20.84, which is No. 2 in the nation this season, at the Millrose Games Trials at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory in New York City on Jan. 13.
The team won its heat of the Suburban Division. Junior Cory Poole came from behind to split 48.91 on the anchor leg. The other runners were sophomore Immyouri Etienne, who split 51.40; sophomore Akeem Lindo, 49.97; and senior Wesley Lindo; 50.58. The 4×400 team qualified for the Millrose Games on Feb. 20 at the New York City Armory.

The EOCHS boys’ team tied for third overall with South Brunswick in the team standings among the 26 scoring teams at the state Group 4 Relays at the Bennett Center on Jan. 14 in Toms River. Old Bridge won the team title, while Huntedon Central was second.

Poole, Akeem Lindo, sophomore Ibrahim Fobay and senior Charon Jenkins won the 4×55-meter shuttle hurdles in 31.06.
Akeem Lindo, Wesley Lindo, senior Ricardo Lovelock, and Poole took third in the 4×200 in 1:33.30.

In the high jump relay, Jenkins was third overall at 6 feet, 2 inches and senior Tashaun Harrison tied for 10th at 5-10 to combine for a second-place finish.
