East Orange Campus HS boys’ indoor track and field team takes third at County meet

EAST ORANGE – Cory Poole, a junior, won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.43 and took second in the 400-meter run in 51.16 to lead the East Orange Campus High School boys’ indoor track and field team to a third-place overall finish in the team standings at the Essex County Individual Championships at the Jersey City Armory on Sunday, Jan. 31.

Seniors Recardo Lovelock and Wesley Lindo and sophomores Immyouri Etienne and Akeem Lindo also won the 4×400-meter relay in 3:27.81.

Akeem Lindo took second in the 55-meter dash in 6.59 and third in the 200-meter dash in 23.08.

Senior Charon Jenkins took fourth in the high jump at 6 feet, 2 inches for EOCHS. Weequahic won the boys’ team title. St. Benedict’s Prep was second.

On the girls’ side, sophomore Kevaray Gilette took third in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.02 and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 26.88 to lead the EOCHS girls’ team, which finished 11th in the team standings. Montclair won the girls’ team title.
