East Orange Campus HS boys’ soccer team tops Orange HS, 1-0

EAST ORANGE/ORANGE, NJ – Dave Cornet scored in the first half to lift the East Orange Campus High School boys’ varsity soccer team to a 1-0 win over Orange High School on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Kenlove Esdras Guillaume made zero saves and Aduro Guira made six saves to combine for the shutout as the EOCHS Jaguars moved to a 2-0 record.

Richaleson Simon made four saves for the OHS Tornadoes.

The Jaguars won its season opener with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Belleville on Thursday, Sept. 8, at home. Shaun Gordon had two goals and two assists; Roshard Jervis posted one goal and two assists; Morrison Milfort contributed one goal and one assist; and Cornet, Alland Ettiene, and Nehemiah Waterman each added one goal. Guira had five saves for the shutout.

Aleks Cardoza had a hat trick and Clifford Bonheur scored two goals to lead OHS to a 6-0 win over North 13th St. Tech in the season opener Thursday, Sept. 8, in Newark. Cristian Dutan had one goal and three assists; and Anderson Amador and Michael Sanchez each added one assist.

Simond made two saves for the shutout.

Following the loss to EOCHS, the Tornadoes fell to Morristown, 4-0, Sept. 12, at home to move to a 1-2 record.
