EAST ORANGE, NJ – The East Orange Campus High School boys’ track and field team achieved another 4-peat title.
The Jaguars won the team title for the fourth straight season at the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 State Championships held at Ridge HS in Basking Ridge, May 25-26, one week after winning the Essex County Championships for the fourth year in a row.
The Jaguars cruised to the team title with 118 points among the 20 schools. North Hunterdon was a distant second with 65 points.
Akeem Lindo was a triple individual winner to lead EOCHS. He won the 100-meter dash in 10.79; the 110-meter hurdles in 13.92 and the 400-meter hurdles in 52.93. Lindo also was third in the 200-meter dash in 22.19.
Kishaun Richardson won the 800-meter run in 1:54.64; took second in the 400-meter dash in 48.67 and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.52. Keon Colson won the high jump at 6 feet.
Al-Tariq Dunson was second in the 110 hurdles in 14.44 and Ibrahim Fobay was second in the 400 hurdles in 54.45, following Lindo in those events. Fobay was third in the 110 hurdles in 14.63.
The 4×400-meter relay was first in 3:21.4 and the 4×100 relay was second in 42.47.
Malcolm Barnes was fourth in the triple jump at 44 feet and Treymont Carter was fourth in the shot put at 47 feet-7 ½ inches. Immyouri Etienne took fifth in the 400 dash in 49.48.
On the girls’ side, EOCHS finished eighth in the team standings. Kevaray Gillette won both the 100 hurdles in 14.82 and the 400 hurdles in 1:02.44 to lead EOCHS. The 4×100 relay took fifth in 49.13 and the 4×400 relay was fourth in 4:04.78. Iyana Alexandre finished fifth in the shot put at 33-7 ¾.
The top six finishers in each event will advance to the NJSIAA Group 4 State Championships at Franklin HS, June 1-2.
