EAST ORANGE, NJ – The fourth-seeded East Orange Campus High School varsity football team’s hopes for a state playoff run were dashed with a 42-13 loss to fifth-seeded Elizabeth in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 5 playoffs on Friday night, Nov. 11, at Paul Robeson Stadium in East Orange.
Naseem White scored both touchdowns for the Jaguars, who moved to a 5-4 record. White scored on a seven-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Fayeson Carney in the fourth quarter.
Elizabeth jumped out to a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Elizabeth moved to a 5-5 record and will visit top-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan in the semifinals next weekend.
The Jaguars will close out the season on Thanksgiving against Barringer at Schools Stadium in the teams’ annual Thanksgiving Day game.
