East Orange Campus HS girls’ basketball team moves to 6-2 record

EAST ORANGE, NJ – The East Orange Campus High School girls’ varsity basketball team, under first-year head coach Jimmy Sheard, defeated Columbia and Millburn before losing to Blair to move to a 6-2 record.

Brianna Mills scored 18 points and added eight steals and six rebounds and Destiny Battle had six points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals to spark the Jaguars to a 44-21 win at Columbia on Jan. 3 in Maplewood.

Lakel Willis and Brianna Turner each had six points, five rebounds and three steals; and Cinderella Hamilton had six points, four rebounds and four blocks.

Willis and Turner each had 13 points in the 53-33 home win over Millburn on Jan. 5. Battle had eight points, eight rebounds and four steals.

EOCHS lost to Blair, 62-37, Jan. 6, in the New Year’s Resolution at Paterson Eastside. Turner had 13 points and Willis had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Jaguars will visit Newark Tech on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.; visit Montclair on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.; host University on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. and visit West Orange on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
