EAST ORANGE, NJ – Rasul Douglas, an East Orange Campus High School graduate and star cornerback for the West Virginia University football team, was named First Team on the All Big 12 Football Conference and was selected to the Associated Press All-American Second Team for the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
Douglas, a 6-foot-2, 203-pound senior, is tied in the nation for most interceptions with eight. Florida State’s Tavarus McFadden also has eight interceptions.
Douglas is the fourth-leading tackler for the West Virginia Mountaineers this season. He has 62 tackles (45 unassisted tackles and 17 assisted tackles). Douglas also has seven pass breakups and one forced fumble.
The Mountaineers (10-2 record) are ranked 14th in the nation by the Associated Press and will face the University of Miami, Fla. in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
Douglas, a 2012 EOCHS graduate who played for the Jaguars football team, attended Nassau Community College after graduating from EOCHS before transferring to West Virginia for the 2015 season.
