East Orange Campus HS softball team continues winning ways; Orange HS softball and baseball teams prevail

EAST ORANGE, NJ –  The East Orange Campus High School varsity softball team defeated West Caldwell Tech and Technology to extend its winning streak to four games and improve to an 11-7 record.

Kadijah Jones went 5-for-5 with a double, homer and four RBI and Maurice Rodriguez and Peighton Jefferson each had two hits and four RBI to lead the Jaguars to a 20-10 win over West Caldwell Tech on May 8. Tonya Hicks also had two hits and two RBI.; Kayla Meyers had two hits and an RBI and Aloni Dowden and Victoria Pennetta each had two hits.

Jefferson went 4-for-5 with a triple and four RBI in the 14-8 home win over Technology on May 9. Jones went 3-for-5 with three RBI and Essence Simmons had two hits and an RBI.

In earlier action, Jones went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI and Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI to lead the EOCHS to a 9-7 win over Orange HS on Monday, May 7, at the STEM Academy in East Orange.

Jefferson had two hits and three RBI; Simmons had two hits and an RBI; and Hicks had two RBI for the Jaguars. EOCHS defeated Orange in both meetings this season. In the first meeting, EOCHS won, 20-18, April 13.

OHS softball team regroups with wins

The Orange High School varsity softball team bounced back from the loss to East Orange Campus with wins over Immaculate Conception of Montclair and West Caldwell Tech to improve to a 10-7 record.

Orezia Logus hit two home runs and finished 3-for-5 with five RBI and Tahalia Davis had two hits and three RBI in the 23-13 win over Immaculate Conception on May 9. Ashley Moscoso went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Andifer Santana had two hits and two RBI.

Stefany Aguilar went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the 19-11 win over West Caldwell Tech on May 11. Moscoso went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Logus went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Angelica Deoleo had a double, single and two RBI.EO

OHS baseball team downs Golda Och

Joshua Fields went 3-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases and Devon Mckay went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, and one run scored to lead the Orange High School varsity baseball team to a 12-2 win over Golda Och Academy on May 7 at Monte Irvin field.

Adam Tizio went 3-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases and Edric Collins went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases for the Tornadoes. Ryan Delgado allowed two hits and struck out seven in five innigs pitched and David Johnson-Guzman pitched one inning for OHS.
