EAST ORANGE and ORANGE – Josie Pascual went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and six RBI and Marilyn Mejia went 3-for-5 with four runs to lead the East Orange Campus High School varsity softball team to a 13-10 win over Orange High School on April 15 at the STEM Academy field.
The OHS Tornadoes scored two runs in the top of the first inning and three in the second for a 5-0 lead, but the Jaguars answered with five runs in the bottom of the second to tie it 5-5. OHS scored three in the top of the third before EOCHS scored four in the bottom of the third for a 9-8 lead. After Orange scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to take a 10-9 lead, the Jaguars scored three in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth to win it.
Aliah Robinson had one hit and two runs; and Brittany Alicee and Essence Simons each had a hit and a run. The Tornadoes were led by Marlene Browne, who went 2-for-5 with one run; Ashley Moscoso, who had one hit, and Maritza Arias, who scored two runs.
In earlier action, OHS beat Shabazz, 25-8, at home April 13.
