East Orange Campus HS track and field teams seek more success this spring; Orange HS track teams begin season at Mountie Relays

The East Orange Campus High School boys’ track and field team gathers after winning the NJSIAA Group 4 State Relays team title in the indoor season this past winter.

EAST ORANGE, NJ – The East Orange Campus High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams hope to achieve more success this spring.

The boys’ team, under head coach Lance Wigfall, arguably was the best team in New Jersey this past winter season. The Jaguars won every single major meet title on the Super Essex Conference, Essex County and state levels, despite the fact that they didn’t have since-graduated Cory Poole, who was considered the best male track athlete last year after he won both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles titles for the second year in a row at the State Outdoor Meet of Champions. Poole is now at the University of Florida.

The boys’ team will be led by senior Al-Tariq Dunson, who competes in the hurdles and long jump; senior Akeem Lindo in the sprints and hurdles; and senior Immyouri Etienne and junior Kishaun Richardson, who both run the middle distance events.

The girls’ team is under the direction of head coach Rolanda Bruce.
