East Orange Panthers heading to GSAYF Conference Championships

EAST ORANGE, NJ – The East Orange Panthers will seek to repeat as Garden State American Youth Football Conference Champions this coming week. They are sending their 8U and 13U teams to the championships after defeating the Union County Warriors 8U, 23-7, and the Montclair Cobras 13U, 14-8, in their respective semifinal games this past Sunday, Oct. 23, at Paul Robeson Stadium.

The East Orange Panthers 12U team was thwarted by the Union County Warriors in their game as they lost a heartbreaker, 27-6. The Montclair Cobras will play host for the Second Annual Garden State American Youth Football Conference Championships. All four games will be played at Montclair’s Woodman Field.

East Orange will play the Silk City Cardinals on the 8U level and the 13U level in what will be a rematch of the second game of the season. Silk City, who is currently ranked in the AYF National and regional rankings, split the day with the Panthers as the Cardinals lost on the 8U level, 13-0, and defeated the Panthers 13U, 18-0.

The other championship games that will be played are Silk City Cardinals 10U vs. Hudson County Dolphins 10U; and Montclair Cobras 12U vs. Union County Warriors 12U.
