EAST ORANGE, NJ (updated Sunday, Sept. 11, 1:12 p.m.) – Giovanni Shine ran for 219 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries and Taiji Hodges rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries to spark the East Orange Campus High School varsity football team to an emphatic 61-15 win over Memorial of West New York in the season opener on Friday, Sept. 9, in West New York in the debut of the North Jersey Super Football Conference.
Rady Rojas ran for 88 yards and a TD on three carries and Nasir Neal carried two times for 75 yards and a TD in the win. Brian Vincent also had a TD run for the Jaguars.
EOCHS quarterback Q’uran Dixon was 4-for-6 passing for 50 yards with one TD and one interception. Naseem White caught a TD pass for EOCHS.
Defensively, Rojas had 11 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery; Khalil Holcolmb had 11 tackles with two sacks; Nasim Marin and Donovan Holloway each had one sack; and Eddie Marshall had one interception.
The Jaguars will host Columbia on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. in a NJSFC-Liberty Blue Division game.
