Orange HS and East Orange Campus HS boys’ soccer teams thriving

ORANGE/EAST ORANGE, NJ – The Orange High School and East Orange Campus High School boys’ varsity soccer are enjoying fine seasons so far.

After a 1-2 start, the OHS Tornadoes won six games in a row to improve to a 7-2 overall record and 6-0 in the Super Essex Conference-Independence Division through Sept. 29.

The Tornadoes defeated Weequahic, 5-1, Sept. 20, at home in a divisional game. Aleks Cardoza had two goals; Cristian Dutan had one goal and two assists; Clifford Bonheur and Edwin Morales each had one goal and one assist; and Richaleson Simond had five saves for OHS.

The Tornadoes defeated Science Park, 3-1, Sept. 22, at home in a non-division game. Jorge Arevalo, Semi Atoro, and Dutan each a goal;  Morales added an assist and Simond made four saves.

Bonheur had two goals and two assists; and Cardoza and Dutan each scored two goals in the 8-0 win over Christ the King Prep on Sept. 27 in Newark in a division game. Atoro had one goal. Morales and Kevin Martinez each had two assists and Reny Lafortune added one assist. Simond posted two saves.

OHS defeated West Side, 5-0, Sept. 29 at home in a divisional game. Bonheur had two goals and one assist; Anderson Amador had two goals; Atoro had one goal; Dutan collected two assists; and Lafortune and Miracle G. Obi each added an assist. Simond made four saves.

The EOCHS Jaguars won four straight games to improve to a 7-1 record through Oct. 1.

Dave Cornet had two goals and one assist; and Alland Ettiene and Courtney Hayes each had two goals to lead the Jaguars to a 9-0 win over North 13th St. Tech on Sept. 22 at home.

Morrison Milfort had one goal and two assists; Kenlove Esras Guillaume and Esterling Paul each had a goal; Roshard Jervis collected three assists and Geraldine Campbell added one assist. Aduro Guira made three saves for the Jaguars.

Jervis collected four goals and one assist to lead the Jaguars to a 6-0 win over Barringer on Sept. 27 in Newark. Cornet had one goal and two assists and Courtney Harvey had one goal. Milfort had three assists.

Khamary Blair and Jervis each had one goal in the 2-0 home win over Cedar Grove on Sept. 30. Malik Mathes and Jerome Richards each had one assist and Guira had two saves.

EOCHS defeated Bloomfield Tech, 5-0, Saturday, Oct. 1, on the road. Jervis had three goals and two assists; Cornet had one goal and one assist; Blair scored a goal and Richards added one assist.

Prior to the win streak, the Jaguars lost at Irvington, 3-0, Sept. 20, for their first defeat of the season.
