Orange HS baseball team jolts East Orange Campus HS in annual Unity Cup Game

EAST ORANGE, NJ – Jason Juarez went 2-for-3 with two singles, three runs and an RBI; Adam Tizio had a double and four RBI and Demetrius Maxwell had a single and three RBI to lead the Orange High School varsity baseball team to a 12-1 win over East Orange Campus High School in the teams’ annual Unity Cup Game on Monday, April 17, at EOCHS field.

Chrystian Walker had a double and two runs; Anthony Ozoria had a single and three runs; Joshua Fields had a single, an RBI and a run; Nelson Mosque Aquino scored two runs; Ezechiel Conserve had a run and an RBI; Devon McKay had a single and an RBI for the Tornadoes, who improved to a 6-3 record.

David Johnson-Guzman pitched a five-inning no-hit complete game with eight strikeouts. EOCHS scored in the bottom of the fifth inning.

OHS, under head coach Wally Boyett, won the Unity Cup for the fourth straight season and sixth time in the seven years since inception of the Unity Cup Game. EOCHS’ lone win in the Unity Cup came in 2013.
