ORANGE – The Orange High School and East Orange Campus High varsity football teams lost in the first round of their respective state sectional playoffs last weekend.
The OHS Tornadoes, seeded fourth, lost to fifth-seeded Ridgefield Park, 33-12, Friday, Nov. 13, at Bell Stadium to finish the season.
The Tornadoes, under head coach Randy Daniel, finished the season with a stellar 7-3 record. OHS went 6-0 to start the season. They lost to Cedar Grove for the first loss and then fell to Verona the following week before beating West Side in the regular-season finale.
The eighth-seeded EOCHS Jaguars, under first-year head coach Al-Majid Hutchins, lost at top-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan, 41-14, Friday, Nov. 13, in the North Jersey Section 2, Group 5 playoffs.
EOCHS, which moved to a 3-6 record, will host Barringer in the season finale on Thanksgiving at 10:30 a.m.
