ORANGE/EAST ORANGE – The Orange High School varsity wrestling team enjoyed a good showing at the Essex County Tournament, Jan. 18-19, at Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange.
The Tornadoes finished in 11th place in the team standings.
Pierre Senat, competing in the 113-pound weight class, Ebenson Macenat, at 126, and Divad Drakeford, at 285 heavyweight, each finished in fourth place to lead Orange.
Alterry Devalon took seventh at 138 and Julien Harris finished eighth at 195 for the Tornadoes.
East Orange Campus High School finished in 15th place, led by Josue David, who finished in fifth place at 138, and Devonne Swann, who took eighth at 182. David pinned Cedar Grove’s Will Dye in 1:24 in the fifth-place consolation.
Seton Hall Prep won the team title for the third straight season.
