GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The annual Glen Ridge Athletic Association Baseball & Softball Opening Day Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m.
Parade Details: At 10 a.m., all players will gather with their teammates at the intersection of Baldwin Street and Sherman Avenue. Sherman Avenue is between Baldwin Street and Bay Avenue and will be closed off to traffic/parking at 10 a.m. The players will be dressed in their baseball uniforms. Coaches and parent volunteers will organize/manage the players until the parade begins. All others will line Sherman Avenue along the parade route.
The teams will march down to the Sherman Avenue baseball field and gather around the infield for the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch. After a short ceremony, the players will be released to their parents to enjoy some treats!
There will be bagels and a Rita’s Ices truck!
Volunteers Needed: The GRAA will need three to four parent volunteers from each team to help organize the players at 10 a.m. at Sherman Avenue and Baldwin Street. Please let your coach know if you can assist with this.
