GLEN RIDGE – The annual Glen Ridge Athletic Association Baseball/Softball Opening Day Parade will be held on Saturday, April 23, beginning at 11 a.m. The parade will start on Sherman Avenue and Baldwin Street, led by the Glen Ridge High School marching band.
The parade will be led down to Sherman Avenue field where the ceremonial first pitch will take place. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Mark Melito, a former professional baseball player from the Double-A Kansas City Royals and is a GRHS graduate, Class of 1990.
Awards will be presented to a few members of the community for their dedication and service to the Glen Ridge baseball and softball programs. Jack the Jackal, the mascot for the New Jersey Jackals, will also be present.
The rain date is April 30.
