Glen Ridge field hockey team tops Cranford in season openerr

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School varsity field hockey team defeated Cranford, 3-0, in the season opener Sept. 5 at George Washington field in the debut of Ridgers head coach Christian Fabiano.

Gretchen Gilmore, Olivia Carlucci, and Giuliana Cipriano each had a goal; Sarah Looney and Julia Hegarty each had an assist; and Caroline Keavey made eight saves for the Ridgers.

“It was a great start to the season, but there are definitely things we still need to work on,” said Fabiano in an email to The Glen Ridge Paper. “Playing a competitive team like Cranford really helped to highlight our weaknesses so that we know what to improve on in the future.”
