GLEN RIDGE – Sophomore Owen Hannigan fired a three-hit shutout with three strikeouts and one walk to lead the Glen Ridge High School varsity baseball team to a 5-0 home win over Montclair Kimberley Academy on April 13. Hannigan also had an RBI. Sophomore Brian Schnack went 3-for-3 with two RBI; senior Robert Spitaletta had a hit, RBI, a walk and two runs; and senior Griffin Cancro had a hit and a run.
The Ridgers then lost at West Orange, 4-1, April 15. Cancro had a triple and an RBI in the top of the first inning; junior Max Thompson had a single and two walks; and senior Matt Buchmann, Hannigan and senior Keeler Patton each had one hit. West Orange scored two runs in the second inning and two runs in the fourth.
GRHS fell to Bloomfield Tech, 4-2, April 16, and lost to Verona, 5-4, April 18, both at home, to move to a 4-4 record.
