Glen Ridge HS boys’ basketball team moves to 2-2

GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School boys’ varsity basketball team lost to Millburn before beating Delaware Valley in the Glen Ridge Holiday Tournament to move to a 2-2 record.

Tyler Liddy had 13 points and Liam Gunnarsson had eight points in the 65-36 loss to Millburn in the first round on Dec. 27. Geoge Kinzler had four points; and Charlie DeLuca, Max Thompson and Nick Weber-Zazzu each had two points. Avery Hackett and David Weissberger each had one point.

The Ridgers defeated Delaware Valley, 41-39, in the consolation the following day. DeLuca, Kinzler, Liddy and Weissberger each scored eight points; Ryan Liddy and Thompson each had four points and Weber-Zazzu had one point.

In earlier action, Kinzler scored nine points and Weber-Zazzu and Weissberger each had six points for the Ridgers in a 53-49 loss at Belleville on Dec. 22. The Ridgers led 44-29 at the end of the third quarter, but Belleville rallied with a 24-5 fourth quarter.
