Glen Ridge HS boys’ lacrosse team advances to ECT quarterfinals

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The fifth-seeded Glen Ridge High School boys’ varsity lacrosse team defeated 12th-seeded Columbia, 12-1, in the first round of the Essex County Tournament on Saturday, April 21, at Watsessing Park.

The Ridgers will face fourth-seeded LIvingston in the quarterfinals on May 1. The winner will face the winner of top-seeded and five-time defending champion Seton Hall Prep and No. 9 seed West Essex in the semifinals on May 3. The final is May 5 at Verona.

Tyler Strong scored four goals; Ege Zeybek had two goals and two assists; Grant Conte, Cole Travia, and Cole Shubert each had a goal and an assist; and Ben Bronstein, Ren Debartolomeis, and Colin Ducey each had a goal; Patrick O’Neil had four saves and Marshall Swett had one save for Glen Ridge, which improved to 4-6.
