Glen Ridge HS boys’ lacrosse team falls to Madison in state Group 1 quarterfinals

GLEN RIDGE – The ninth-seeded Glen Ridge High School boys’ varsity lacrosse team gave a good effort, but lost at top-seeded Madison, 10-6, in the quarterfinals of the state South Jersey Group 1 tournament on May 21.

Nathaniel Johns had a hat trick; Tyler Grady had two goals and one assist; Michael Faugno had one goal; Cole Travia added an assist and Adam Juros posted 19 saves for the Ridgers, who finished the season with a 5-12 record.

Steven Topping had two goals and one assist and Grady, Johns and Travia each had two goals in the 10-6 win over eighth-seeded Johnson in the first round on May 18 in Clark. Joe Marchesano had one goal and one assist; Faugno had one goal; Paddy McDermott notched two assists and Ege Zeybek had one assist for GRHS. Juros had 13 saves.
