GLEN RIDGE, NJ  – The fourth-seeded Glen Ridge High School boys’ varsity soccer team defeated top-seeded Dayton, 2-1, Monday, Nov. 5 in the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 state tournament in Springfield.

Drew Hiner and Modesto Nogueira each had a goal and Logan Kotronis made nine saves for Glen Ridge.

The Ridgers, who won their sixth straight game to improve to 12-3-1, will visit third-seeded New Providence in the final on Thursday, Nov. 8. Glen Ridge avenged last year’s loss to Dayton in the quarterfinals.

Nogueira had a goal and an assist and Travis Burnett scored a goal in the 4-1 win over 12th-seeded Whippany Park in the quarterfinals on Nov. 1 at Watsessing Park.
