Glen Ridge HS boys’ cross-country team gives good effort in second meet of season

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School cross-country team, under head coach Stephanie Fego, defeated Belleville at Branch Brook Park on Sept. 12, but fell to Irvington in the second meet of the season. The team’s record is 2-3.

Junior Ren DeBartolomeis came in seventh place with a season best of 18:46.8, followed by captain Ethan Hackmeyer, Benjamin Wyatt, Sean Kaveny, Alex Van Wayenberge, Charles Marsden, captain Brandon Lutz, Mattias Ehatamm, and Edison Lay in the boys’ varsity race.

Junior captain Sofia Costa came in ninth place with a time of 23:41.5 in the girls’ varsity race.

Glen Ridge’s next week is at Branch Brook Park on September 20.
