GLEN RIDGE, NJ — The Glen Ridge High School boys and girls cross-country teams enjoyed fine efforts at the Essex County Championships at Brookdale Park on Friday, Nov. 1.
Ren DeBartolomeis, a senior, finished 47th out of 154 runners in a time of 17:52.10 to lead the boys team. Ojas Kalra, a sophomore, took 74th in 18:52.00; sophomore Alex Van Wayenberge was 78th in 18:55.30; sophomore Charles Marsden was 83rd in 19:16.10; senior Mattias Ehatamm took 92nd in 19:31.80; sophomore Justin Fields finished 108th in 20:15.20 and sophomore Evan Rossi was 111th in 20:22.00.
The GRHS boys team finished in 14th place in the team standings among the 21 schools.
On the girls’ side, the Ridgers were led by Sofia Costa, who finished 27th in 21:25.20; and fellow senior Aubra Sharp, who was 59th in 22:32.20.
The Ridgers will gear up for the North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 Championships at Greystone Park in Morris Plains on Saturday, Nov. 9.
