Glen Ridge HS field hockey team advances to section tournament semifinals

GLEN RIDGE, NJ (update Tuesday Nov. 1, 11:06 a.m.) – Gretchen Gilmore and Maggie Krupinsky each had a goal to lead the fourth-seeded Glen Ridge High School varsity field hockey team to a 2-0 win at fourth-seeded Pompton Lakes in the quarterfinals of the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 1 tournament on Oct. 26.

Grace Twitchell had an assist and Sydney Collins made three saves for the Lady Ridgers, who improved to a 10-9-1 record and will visit top-seeded Newton in the semifinals on Nov. 1.

The winner will face the winner of second-seeded Mountain Lakes and third-seeded Belvidere in the final on Nov. 3.
