Glen Ridge HS field hockey team falls to Metuchen in North 2, Group 1 quarterfinals; six-game win streak ends

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School field hockey team lost a tough 2-1 decision at top-seeded Metuchen in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 state tournament on Oct. 28.

The Ridgers had their six-game winning streak snapped and moved to 10-9. Grace Twitchell scored the goal for Glen Ridge. Julia Hegarty had the assist. Caroline Keavey had eight saves for GRHS.

The Ridgers defeated No. 8 seed South Hunterdon, 1-0, in the first round Oct. 23 on the road. Olivia Carlucci had the goal.

Twitchell and Carlucci each had a goal in a 2-1 win at Governor Livingston on Oct. 25 in a regular-season game in Berkeley Heights.
