GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School varsity field hockey team lost to Millburn, 6-2, in the Essex County Tournament quarterfinals at George Washington Field on Oct. 5.
Maggie Krupinsky and Maggie Smith each had one goal; and Sophie Thervil and Grace Twitchell each had an assist for the fourth-seeded Ridgers, who moved to a 7-6 record. Millburn is seeded fifth.
In earlier action, Gretchen Gilmore had a hat trick and Twitchell had one goal and two assists in the 4-0 regular-season win at Vernon on Oct. 4. The Ridgers received one assist each from Ava DeBartolomeis, Krupinsky, Sarah Looney, and Lyla Wofring. Caroline Keavey made six saves.
