GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team has enjoyed a strong start to the season.
The Ridgers won three straight games, beating Science Park, Newark Central, and Livingston, to raise its record to 7-3 on the season.
Senior CMClMahon scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds; junior Sarah Cullinan had six points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals; junior Haileigh Pine had six points and senior Jenny Lisovicz posted five points with six rebounds and four steals as the Ridgers cruised to a 50-11 home win over Science Park on Jan. 3. Elettra Giantomenico also had six points and fellow freshman Holly Vincent hit a three-pointer.
McMahon scored 19 points and Lisovicz had 10 points in the 40-24 win over Newark Central on Jan. 4 in Newark. Cullinan had nine points and Giantomenico had two points.
McMahon and Dowd each had nine points to lead GRHS to a 34-25 win at Livingston on Monday, Jan. 7. Pine had five points; Cullinan and senior Zipporah Hommel each had four points and Lisovicz hit a three-pointer.
