Glen Ridge HS girls’ basketball team defeats Roselle Park

GLEN RIDGE – Gabby Kinzler scored 11 points and Claire McMahon had eight points to lead the Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team  to a 41-29 win at Roselle Park on Feb. 23 to improve to a 10-12 record.

Meghan Marhan had seven points and Julia Lawson had four for the Ridgers, who outscored Roselle Park, 12-2, in the second quarter for a 17-9 halftime lead. GRHS maintained control in the third quarter, outscoring Roselle Park, 18-9, to make it 35-18.

In earlier action, Kinzler scored 13 points and Leslie Jaiyesimi had 10 points, but GRHS lost to Science Park, 37-34, Feb. 16 at home.  McMahon had seven points; and Lisovicz and  Marhan each added two points. Science Park led 16-15 at halftime and outscored GRHS, 12-10, in the fourth quarter.

The Ridgers defeated Newark Central, 34-26, Feb. 18 in Newark. Juliann Lisovicz had eight points; Kinzler had seven; and Marhan had six. GRHS fell to Montclair Kimberley Academy, 39-27, Feb. 19, at home.

Kinzler had eight points and McMahon and Marhan each had seven in the 39-27 home loss to Montclair Kimberley Academy on Feb. 19. Jaiyesimi had four points and Lisovicz added a free throw.
