Glen Ridge HS girls’ indoor track runner Liz O’Connell gives good effort at State Meet of Champions

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Glen Ridge High School senior Liz O’Connell gave

a good effort at the NJSIAA indoor track and field State Meet of Champions on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Bennett Center in Toms River.

O’Connell, a senior, finished 27th in the girls’ 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:19.17. O’Connell was the lone GRHS competitor at the Meet of Champions, which consisted of the top six finishers, plus wild-card berths, from the State Group meets.

O’Connell competed at the Eastern States Championships on Feb. 20 at the New York City Armory Center in which she finished 12th in the 1,500-meter run in 5:01.42 and 14th in the one-mile run in 5:22.85.
