UPDATED: Glen Ridge HS girls’ lacrosse players garner Stars & Stripes North honors

GLEN RIDGE, NJ (updated Monday July 2, 3:08 p.m.) – The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team was sparked by outstanding players who earned Stars & Stripes North Division accolades this past spring.

Gretchen Gilmore, a rising junior, and Jenny Lisovicz, a rising senior, were named to the First Team.

On the Second Team are rising senior Claire McMahon and rising junior Madison Grady.

Sarah Looney, a rising junior, made Honorable Mention.

Here are their season stats:

• Gretchen Gilmore: 74 goals, 30 assists, 60 ground balls, 150 draw controls

• Jenny Lisovicz: 27 goals, 10 assists, 40 ground balls, 34 draw controls

• Claire McMahon: 55 goals, 17 assists, 15 ground balls

• Madison Grady: 25 goals, 12 assists, 47 groundballs, 34 draw controls

• Sarah Looney: 15 goals, 6 assists, 42 groundballs, 46 draw controls

Under head coach Beth Larkin, the Ridgers won the Essex County Tournament championship for the third straight year and finished as runner-up in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 state tournament for the second year in a row to finish with a 13-7 record.
