GLEN RIDGE – Junior Colleen Grady scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, and added two assists and junior Juliann Lisovicz had four goals to lead the Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team to a 12-9 win over West Essex on April 15 in North Caldwell.
Junior Galen Lew had two goals and one assist; junior Maggie Smith added one goal and sophomore Morgan Connaghan chipped in one assist. Senior Nicole Eckert made 10 saves for the Ridgers, who improved to a 4-3 record.
In earlier action, Grady had three goals and Connaghan had one goal in the 24-4 home loss to Ridgewood on April 13.
The Ridgers received the No. 2 seed in the Essex County Tournament and will host seventh-seeded Montclair Kimberley Academy in the quarterfinals on April 23. The winner will face the winner between No. 3 seed Montclair and No. 6 seed Caldwell in the semifinals on April 30 at the higher-seeded site. The final is May 7 at Nutley at 12:30 p.m. West Essex is the top seed.
