GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team finished a great season.
The fourth-seeded Ridgers lost at top-seeded Mountain Lakes, 13-5, in the semifinals of the state North Jersey Group 1 tournament on May 26.
Junior Colleen Grady had two goals and juniors Galen Lew, Juliann Lisovicz and Maggie Smith each had one goal for the Ridgers, who finished with an impressive 14-7 record. Senior Nicole Eckert made nine saves for GRHS, which had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Ridgers’ last two losses of the season were to Mountain Lakes. They lost to Mountain Lakes, 16-6, May 14, before the three-game win streak.
The Ridgers, under head coach Beth Larkin, won the Essex County Tournament championship this season, beating Verona in the final.
