Glen Ridge HS girls’ lacrosse team starts season 1-1

GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team lost to Immaculate Heart Academy before defeating Wayne Hills to start the season at 1-1.

The Lady Ridgers lost to host Immaculate Heart Academy, 11-7, in the season opener Friday, April 1, in Washington Township. Stanford University-bound junior Galen Lew had three goals; junior Colleen Grady had two goals and one assist; and junior Maggie Smith had two goals for the Ridgers.

Lew and junior Juliann Lisovicz each had five goals to lead the Ridgers to a 19-4 win over Wayne Hills on Monday, April 4, at Watsessing Park field. Grady had four goals and one assist; Smith had three goals and one assist; and freshman Claire McMahon and freshman Jen Lisovicz each had one goal and one assist. GRHS senior goalie Nicole Eckert made three saves.

The Ridgers will host Chatham on Monday, April 11, at 4 p.m.
