Glen Ridge HS girls’ lacrosse team tops West Morris, Kent Place; seeks good ECT run

GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team defeated West Morris and Kent Place to improve to a 6-3 record.

Colleen Grady scored nine goals to lead the Ridgers to 16-6 win at West Morris on April 20 in Long Valley. Galen Lew had three goals and three assists; Juliann Lisovicz had two goals; Maggie Smith collected one goal and one assist and Ally Fuydal added one goal. Nicole Eckert made 10 saves.

Lew had four goals and two assists and Grady also had four goals in the 14-5 win at Kent Place on April 21 in Summit. Smith had three goals and one assist; Lisovicz had two goals and one assist; Claire McMahon added one goal and Eckert made eight saves.

The second-seeded Ridgers were scheduled to host seventh-seeded Montclair Kimberley Academy in the Essex County Tournament quarterfinals on April 26.

The winner will face the winner of No. 3 Montclair and No. 6 Caldwell in the semifinals on Saturday, April 30, at the higher-seeded site.

The final is Saturday, May 7, at Nutley High School at 12:30 p.m.
