GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The second-seeded and four-time defending champion Glen Ridge High School girls’ soccer team defeated 14th-seeded New Providence, 2-0, in the semifinals of the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 tournament on Nov. 8 at Watsessing Park.
Merritt Davie and Liz Hauschild each had a goal in the second half and Tara Feenaghty and Galen Lew each had an assist. Victoria Woznick made four saves for the Ridgers, who won their fifth straight game and ninth in the past 10 games to improve to a 14-6-1 record.
The Ridgers, under 16th-year head coach Oscar Viteri will host fourth-seeded Belvidere in the final on Friday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.
