Glen Ridge HS girls’ soccer team keeps up surge

GLEN RIDGE, NJ (update Sunday Oct. 16, 10:52 a.m.) – Senior Galen Lew scored two goals to lead the Ridgers to a 4-1 win at Verona on Oct. 13.

Junior Liz Hauschild had a goal and an assist; senior Leslie Jaiyesimi had a goal; senior Colleen Grady collected two assists and senior Merritt Davie added one assist.

Victoria Woznick had six saves and fellow junior Gabby Sanchez made one save for the Ridgers, who won their second straight and are 3-1-1 in their past five games to move to a 7-5-1 record.

The Ridgers are the No. 8 seed in the Essex County Tournament and will host No. 17 seed Science Park in the second preliminary round on Monday, Oct. 17, at 4 p.m. at Carteret Park. The wnner will play No. 9 seed Millburn in the first round on or by Oct. 19 at the higher-seeded site.
