Glen Ridge HS girls’ soccer team moves to 8-2-1 record

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School varsity girls’ soccer team defeated Livingston and Bloomfield before losing to Montclair Kimberley Academy to move to an 8-2-1 overall record and 4-1-1 in the Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division.

Senior forward Lindsey Jaiyesimi scored on an assist from freshman forward Sydney Mansfield in overtime to lift the Ridgers to a 1-0 win at Livingston on Oct. 3 in a Super Essex Conference non-division game. Livingston is in the American Division of the SEC, the top division in the conference.

The Ridgers defeated Bloomfield, 2-1, Oct. 5, at Watsessing Park in a SEC-Liberty Division game. Mansfield scored both goals. Junior midfielder Jenny Lisovicz and Jaiyesimi each had an assist and senior goalie Victoria Woznick made eight saves.

GRHS fell to Montclair Kimberley Academy, 2-1, Friday, Oct. 6, at Carteret Park in a division game. The loss ended the Ridgers’ three-game winning streak. Sophomore midfielder Tara Feenaghty scored on an assist from Jaiyesimi. MKA moved to 9-2-1 overall and 5-0 in the division.
