Glen Ridge HS girls’ tennis team has good state tournament run

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The third-seeded Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity tennis team enjoyed a good run in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey Section 1, Group 2 tournament.

The Ridgers defeated 14th-seeded Cedar Grove, 5-0, in the first round on Oct. 7 at Freeman Courts. GRHS defeated 11th-seeded Hasbrouck Heights, 5-0, in the quarterfinals on Oct. 11, at Freeman Courts. But the Ridgers fell at second-seeded New Providence, 5-0, in the semifinals on Oct. 14.

The Ridgers’ singles lineup consisted of Charlotte Sagges, Jane Kay, and Julia Baione. Michaila Dowd and Alex Manolis comprise the first doubles team and Sarah Gang and Colleen Murphy comprise the seocond doubles team.
