UPDATE: Glen Ridge HS indoor track and field teams give good sectional efforts

GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School boys’ and girls’ indoor track and field teams gave good efforts at the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 Championship meet at the Bennett Complex in Toms River on Feb. 13.

The boys’ team finished fifth overall and the girls’ team finished eighth overall in their respective team standings.

For the GRHS boys’ team, junior Pelle Nogueira won the 3,200-meter run in 10:20.97. Jack Looney, a sophomore, was fourth in the same event in 10:35.49. Senior Justin Dignan took third in the 800-meter run in 2:02.16.

Junior Judah Raab, junior Lane Darby; sophomore David Ogilvie and senior Connor Lewis took fourth in the 4×400-meter relay in 3:45.00.

Lewis was seventh in both the 55-meter dash in 7:01 and the 400-meter run in 53.40.

Elizabeth O’Connell, a sophomore, won the 1,600-meter run in 5:34.81 for the Lady Ridgers’ lone points.

The top six finishers in each event qualified for the state Group 1 Championship meet on Feb. 19 at the Bennett Complex.
