Glen Ridge HS softball team hopes to regroup from slow start

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School varsity softball team hopes to regroup from a slow start to the season.

After winning in the season opener, Glen Ridge fell in its next three games to move to 1-3 through April 9.

The Ridgers defeated Bloomfield Tech, 15-4, in the season opener April 4.

Junior Lizzy Komorowski went 3-for-5 with a walk, three RBI, and four runs scored; sophomore Ali Cerruto went 2-for-4 with three RBI; junior Lizzie Wiede went 3-for-6 with two RBI; and sophomore Hannah O’Connor went 2-for-5 with three runs and an RBI.

Glen Ridge fell to Morrist Tech, 12-0, April 5, at Glenfield Park.

The Ridgers lost to West Orange, 10-7, April 6. Komorowski and sophomore Ava Rollo each had three hits and two RBI; O’Connor had three hits and an RBI; and Cerruto had a double and a solo homer; Emma Wolski had two hits and sophomore Sarina Robik had an RBI.

The Ridgers lost at Millburn, 5-1, April 9.
