Glen Ridge HS sophomore Bobby Critides crowned Essex County bowling champ

GLEN RIDGE – Glen Ridge High School sophomore Bobby Critides captured first place at the Essex County Individual Bowling Championships on Feb. 10 at Eagle Rock Lanes in West Orange.

This is his first year on the GRHS bowling team.  

In the Essex County Team Tournament, Critides placed 11th for high series with a total of 561 pins on Feb. 8.  The top 12 individuals bowled in the Essex County Individual Championships.

In the preliminary round, Critides bowled three games, with the following scores: 215, 184 and 247.  His scores gave him the number one seed in the ladder part of the individual championship in which the top five bowl against each other.

Critides had to wait  for the  winners of positions 5, 4, 3 and 2 (3 games) to finally bowl for the championship. He won with a score of 196.
