GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams enjoyed fine performances at the Cedar Grove/Verona Relays on Saturday, April 7.
The boys’ team took first place overall with 55 points.
The following are GRHS results:
- The boys’ 400 hurdles placed second, with senior Jack Renosis, who ran 64.4, and sophomore Matt Gomez, who ran 71.3.
- The boys’ 4×100-meter relay placed first. Senior Jose McCallen-Villifane, junior Simon Hanan, junior Zach Debelak, and senior Eric Santiago ran a total time of 46.42.
- The girls’ 4×100-meter relay placed fifth. Sophomore Alara Kilic, freshman Mia Latifi, freshman Charlotte Hunter, and sophomore Olivia Cagnina ran a total time of 61.31.
- The girls’ 4×800-meter relay placed second. Senior Elizabeth O’Connell, sophomore Sofia Costa, freshman Erin Byerly, and senior Jackie Landi ran a total time of 11:33.21.
- The boys’ 4×200-meter relay placed second. Debelak, McCallen-Villifane, junior Nick Hurley, and Santiago ran a total time of 1:41.58.
- The boys’ mile placed fifth as sophomore Ruben Rodriguez ran 5:38.
- The boys sprint medley relay teams took first and second place. First place: McCallen-Villifane, Hanan, Santiago, and junior Prince Fitzpatrick ran 4:05. Second place: junior Daryush Dehnavi, junior Shaw Kobayashi, senior Davis Brandell, and junior Christian O’Connell with a total time of 4:15.
