GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Two Glen Ridge girls’ youth players were invited to compete at the Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Tournament this summer.

Gretchen Gilmore was selected for the NJ All-American Underclass team, while Sarah Looney made the All-American Uncommitted team.

Both headed to Towson University in Maryland in July to represent New Jersey and played against competition from all over the country.

Under Armour opened up its All-American Tournament to players as young as eighth grade for the first time this year. Typically, in years past, it was a college showcase for high school students. More than 200 girls tried out for the New Jersey All-American Command Team, comprised of eighth- and ninth-graders.

Beth Larkin, the Glen Ridge High School coach, was the head coach for the NJ Under Armour Command Team comprised of Eighth and Ninth Grade All-Americans. Holly Lloyd, originally from Glen Ridge, played in the Under Armour National All-American Collegiate game as a senior.

GRHS junior Joe Marchesano and senior Chris Harris also made the boys Uncommitted All-American Team. GRHS boys’ lacrosse coach Carl Houser also coached the boys NJ Under Armour team.
